Eric Barlow, MD
Dr. Barlow has been practicing psychiatry in the Des Moines metro area since 2003. He received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Barlow is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His general focus is adult psychiatry, and he specializes in caring for patients diagnosed with treatment resistant depression, as well as bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and schizophrenia. He has extensive experience with electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation and general medication management. Dr. Barlow’s personal interests include spending time with family, traveling, hiking, reading and music — with a special fondness for 80s rock music and classic 80s movies.
Dr. Barlow is passionate about providing mental health education to help eradicate the stigma of mental illness. He will always treat those suffering from these diagnoses as people who are much, much more than their respective illness.
